Nordic countries often are considered as a “package deal” but they are five different countries with similarities and differences. As far as folk music is concerned it has developed from many sources, taken various influences and keep on evolving to many directions, becoming even so-called world music. Panelists will debate the title giving their insights on various elements which either form a Nordic folk music identity or question it, or leave it somewhere in between.

Hailing from Northern Iceland, Blood Harmony started as a collaboration project of sister and brother Ösp Eldjárn and Örn Eldjárn. Having been brought up in a musical family, it was no wonder that both of their paths led into a musical career. Now, after more than a decade in various musical projects and bands, they have joined forces again, like they did when they were teenagers, and returned to their folky roots. To perfect the “Blood Harmony”, which happens when close family members sing together, Örn and Ösp Eldjárn are joined by their younger sister, Björk Eldjárn.
