It's getting wild!
Join us for a workshop presentation where Henrik fra Stevns will introduce us the project Folkedans for Fremtiden, and make us stand up from our chairs and move our feet!
About Folkedans for Fremtiden: Denmark has a unique and comprehensive collection of dance and music in a folk tradition covering the period approx. anno 1750 until today. The material is still in use, but despite burgeoning interest are central and characteristic parts of the tradition about to fall out of use. Folkedans for Fremtiden is a digital publication of documentary, didactic and communicative character, the purpose of which is to develop, produce and publish video recordings of all approx.1000 Danish folk dances with accompanying music.
The material is freely available and easy to use use via various relevant search functions. The videos form the supporting element and be linked in the release to existing material. We want to create an overview of the tradition, make it accessible and usable for everyone and most importantly: to visualize its contemporary expression on modern media. Via innovative communication, modern media and a contemporary living perspective, we secure this intangible cultural heritage as well as 120 years of work with it for posterity.
The project is part of a sought-after development that must position itself folk dance and folk music in the general population and in new domains. We see many and versatile potential application and collaboration opportunities in collaboration with current and future partners.
